Modi’s plane flew for 46 minutes in the sky of Pakistan
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Europe recently. He was returning to India from Ukraine via Poland. At that time, the plane carrying Modi flew in Pakistan’s airspace for 46 minutes. Which has given birth to a new debate about Pak-India.
According to the report of Pakistani media Dawn, when a head of state or government crosses Pakistan’s airspace, he gives a goodwill message according to custom or tradition. But Modi did not do that.
Neighboring India and Pakistan are eternal rivals in regional politics. Therefore, the Indian Prime Minister’s position in Pakistan’s airspace and the fact that he did not send a greeting has grabbed the attention of the Pakistani media.
In this regard, a source associated with Pakistan’s aviation industry told Dawn that greetings are an old custom. It is not mandatory. In other words, one can give a message according to the custom or not. But Modi may face problems from his critics in India.
The Indian plane carrying Prime Minister Narendra Modi entered the airspace of Pakistan’s Chitral region, multiple media outlets reported, citing sources from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. Later moved to Amritsar. The plane also flew over Islamabad and Lahore at that time.
The source also said that Pakistan’s airspace is now open for Indian commercial aircraft.
The source said the plane carrying the Indian Prime Minister did not need any separate permission to use Pakistan’s airspace. In some cases Modi’s aircraft are given a call sign. Similarly, aircraft carrying heads of state are given the call sign ‘Pakistan One’ by the Pakistani authorities when crossing their airspace.
