The Department of Irrigation has advised residents in low-lying areas along the river to remain vigilant.
The Disaster Management Center has also urged drivers to exercise caution when traveling through the affected areas.
The Department of Railways announced that train operations on the Puttalam route, previously limited to Lunuwila, have now been restored to normal operations.
