No obstacle to Gandapur meeting Imran Khan: Court
The Islamabad High Court has dismissed the petition of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur seeking a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
The court said that there is no restriction on this meeting. Therefore, no separate permission is required.
Judge Arbab Mohammad Tahir passed the order while hearing the case on Thursday.
During the hearing, the court noted that although security was tight for Gandapur’s meeting with Imran Khan, no special obstacles were imposed.
Judge Arbab Mohammad Tahir said, “You can verify the meeting and security. However, there is no need to submit a fresh application for this.”
The deputy superintendent of Adiala Jail was present during the court hearing. He told the court that Intezar Panjotha was appointed as the coordinator in this regard, but he was kidnapped. Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raza were also involved in this process.
In this context, Judge Tahir asked why such restrictions were imposed. The Deputy Superintendent said that the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan imposes such restrictions mainly for internal security reasons. However, the system of meeting according to the pre-determined list is still in operation in Adiala Jail.
The court informed that if the meeting time is fixed in the prison according to the pre-determined list, it will be conducted without any hindrance.
As a result of this verdict, Ali Amin Gandapur can meet Imran Khan at any time. Which has received a positive response among PTI workers and supporters.
