The PATA Nepal Chapter participated in the Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF) and NICE 2025 Roadshow in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, China, on December 2 and 4, 2024. The event, attended by over 250 outbound tour operators and media representatives, served as a platform to highlight Nepal’s tourism offerings and promote the Nepal India China Expo (NICE) 2025, scheduled in Pokhara from February 24-26, 2025.

PATA Nepal Chairman Mr. Khem Lakai, CEO Mr. Suresh Singh Budal, and NICE 2025 Goodwill Ambassador Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt highlighted Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural richness, and tourism potential and emphasized the boundless opportunities for collaboration and tourism exchange.

The roadshow aligned with the official announcement of Nepal Tourism Year 2025 during the Nepalese Prime Minister’s visit to China. As a “Preferred Partner” for NICE 2025, GITF has played a crucial role in expanding outreach among Chinese outbound operators, with over 200 buyers from China and India already registered for the expo.

In his opening remarks, PATA Nepal Chairman Mr. Khem Lakai extended a warm invitation to Chinese tour operators to join NICE 2025. He stated, “Nepal, a land of natural beauty, rich culture, and boundless possibilities, invites you to experience the warmth and wisdom of our people at the first-ever NICE Expo.”

PATA Nepal Chapter CEO, Mr. Suresh Singh Budal, presented key insights on “Asian Outbound Tourism” and shared a detailed overview of NICE 2025. His presentation highlighted the event’s program, proceedings, and its pivotal role in fostering tourism exchange for Nepal, targeting the two largest source markets: India and China.

Additionally, NICE 2025 Goodwill Ambassador Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt provided the latest updates on China’s outbound tourism market, shared his personal experiences in Nepal, and emphasized the country’s unmatched tourism offerings and renowned hospitality. He noted that these qualities inspire travelers worldwide to explore Nepal.

Ms. Cathy Sui, Head of GITF, expressed her delight in collaborating with PATA Nepal Chapter, emphasizing the shared commitment to promoting Nepal as a premier global travel destination.

With growing interest and registrations, NICE 2025 is poised to create a new milestone in regional tourism exchange, further cementing Nepal’s reputation as a vibrant and hospitable destination.
