President meets IMF team; discusses successful completion of 3rd review: Semasinghe
Colombo, August 2 (Daily Mirror)- President Ranil Wickremesinghe met IMF Mission Chief Peter Breuer and his team where they discussed matters involving the successful completion of the 3rd review which is crucial for the timely disbursement of the 4th tranche, State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said.
He said in a statement posted on X that the discussion focused on identifying areas that need additional attention to ensure the successful completion of the 3rd review, which is crucial for the timely disbursement of the 4th tranche.
“The IMF team commended President Wickremesinghe for his commitment and leadership, which have played a pivotal role in achieving a remarkable economic turnaround in a short time. Additionally, the meeting covered the progress of debt restructuring efforts. President Wickremesinghe assured that he is dedicated to steering the country towards a prosperous future,” he said.
