Prison officer arrested for helping Imran Khan
Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, is currently in jail in several cases. However, a former deputy superintendent of Adiala Jail and a jail assistant have been arrested for helping him during his imprisonment.
The Deputy Superintendent has been arrested for abuse of power inside the jail. The authorities have started an investigation into the involvement of some other prison employees in this regard.
Sama TV, citing its sources, said in a report that former Deputy Superintendent Zafar and Jail Assistant Nazim provided unauthorized facilities to the former prime minister during his imprisonment. Following the complaint they were arrested.
Meanwhile, another six employees are being investigated based on the information given by another former deputy superintendent, Muhammad Akram. These six employees are said to be closely associated with Akram. Because, Akram served in Adiala Jail for 15 years in different terms.
At that time, he violated the jail rules and gave Imran Khan mobile phone access. Evidence of which was found in the list of WhatsApp calls linked to three European countries. Akram is also believed to be close to PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari. who is alleged to have acted as his messenger to assist Imran Khan.
