PTI will not walk the path of amendment without Imran's orders

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gowhar Ali Khan on Saturday said his party will not go for any constitutional amendment until there is a clear order from founder chairman Imran Khan.

According to Gohar, progress on the issue is not possible without Imran’s final approval. That is why his consultation with Imran Khan is still going on. And for this they met Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

Later, Gohar said, ‘Imran has ordered to continue discussions with JUI-F Amir Maulana Fazlur Rahman regarding the amendment.

Their meeting lasted a total of 45 minutes; Although initially it was said that the meeting would last for 1 hour. But later the jail authorities suddenly reduced that time. The first 15 minutes of the discussion were about the terrible conditions in the jail and the conditions in his cell during the last two weeks. And in the next period the amendment of the constitution was discussed.

Whereas, Imran emphasized on upholding the constitution. He conveyed the outcome of his meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rahman, noting that they agreed to work together on any proposed amendments.

Gohar also highlighted Imran’s promise not to compromise the nation’s dignity. He also expressed regret over the recent arrest of his party members.

Barrister Gohar pointed out that the consultation process on these amendments remains incomplete. Imran also requested consultation with Omar Ayyub, Shibli Faraj, Ali Amin Gandapur and Malik Ahmed Bhachar. He also called for immediate release of two PTI senators.

It may be noted that the proposed 26th Constitutional Amendment states that the government wants to establish a Federal Constitutional Court and make the term of the Chief Justice three years, among other things. Against which an appeal has now been made.
