Putin agrees to withdraw Indian troops

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Moscow on a two-day state visit. On the first day of the visit, he discussed various aspects of the Ukraine war with President Vladimir Putin. Prime Minister Modi said that many of the Indians in Russia were forced to participate in the war. Modi also requested Putin to exempt Indians from the war.

Sources claim that Putin responded to Modi’s words. He assured that the Indians will be released from the Russian army. Besides, the Russian President also said that arrangements will be made so that they can return to the country. This information came out in the report of NDTV on Tuesday.

On the first day of the visit, the Indian Prime Minister attended a dinner with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday night. At this time, various aspects of the Ukraine war were discussed between them. At this time, Modi called for an end to the war in Ukraine. The Prime Minister of India said that no solution can be found on the battlefield. India respects UN Charter, territorial integrity and sovereignty. Nothing is fixed on the battlefield. Negotiation and diplomacy are the way forward to solve the problem. At that time, Modi expressed concern about Indian citizens joining the Russian army after being cheated by dishonest travel agents.

Russia started attacking Ukraine in 2022. The war has been going on since then. Many Indians live in Russia for work. Modi alleged that many Indians were forced to join the Russian army. Reports also revealed that some Indians were killed in the battle.

Meanwhile, this visit of Modi is being viewed very seriously amid the intense tension between the Western countries with Russia centered on the Ukraine war. Modi’s visit is not seen well by the western world including the United States. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already reacted sharply to the meeting between Putin and Modi. He termed the meeting as a ‘huge disappointment’ on social media on Tuesday. Seeing the leader of the world’s largest democracy embrace the world’s most bloodthirsty criminal in Moscow is a devastating blow to peace efforts, Zelensky wrote.
