Salaries of government employees in Karnataka increased by 27 percent
Karnataka, the southern state of India, has increased the salaries of the officials and employees working in various ministries and departments of the state government by 27.5 percent.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the state cabinet on Monday chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
This decision to increase the salary will be implemented from August 1. For this reason, it is assumed that an additional expenditure of 17 thousand 440 crore 15 lakh taka will be spent on the salaries and allowances of the state government officials and employees from next month.
A member of the cabinet said that the state government has taken this decision to increase the salary in line with the increase in the cost of living and to improve the quality of work of the officials and to ensure honesty in the workplace.
Earlier last year in March last year the salaries of Karnataka state government employees were increased. The then Chief Minister Basbaraj Bommai approved a 17 percent pay hike.
