Saurya Airlines crash: Three members of family among deceased
Kathmandu: Among the eighteen people who tragically lost their lives in the Saurya Airlines plane crash, three have been identified as members of a family.
According to sources, Manuraj Sharma, a technical staff member at Saurya Airlines, his wife Priza Khatiwada who worked as a computer operator at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, and their son Adhiraj Sharma, were all killed in the accident.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has confirmed that the crash claimed the lives of 18 people aboard the Saurya Airlines aircraft.
The 9 NAME flight, bound for Pokhara, departed from Kathmandu at 11:11 am on Wednesday.
The aircraft experienced a runway excursion and subsequently plunged into a gorge on the eastern side of Tribhuvan International Airport.
Captain MR Shakya was rescued from the crash site and is currently receiving treatment at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, Nepal Police reported.
