Severe heat wave: Red alert issued in 8 districts of West Bengal

Various districts of West Bengal state of India are burning due to severe heat wave. In this situation, ‘Red Alert’ has been issued in 8 districts of the state. And ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued in Kolkata.

In West Bengal, the heat record is breaking every day, common people are sighing. The average temperature has touched 43 degree mercury for the last few days in 8 districts of the state including two Medinipur, Purulia-Bankura Birbhum, Jhargram, West Burdwan.

Two days ago, Burdwan’s Panagad recorded a temperature of around 45 degrees Celsius. As a result, the Alipur Abahwa Department has issued a red alert on these districts.

Capital Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas along with neighboring districts are on yellow alert. Also, ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued in several districts. Meteorologists have also predicted that this heatwave, which is moving over almost all the districts except a few northern districts of the state, may intensify.

Meanwhile, traffic on the roads has reduced considerably due to the intense heat. Many people do not go out without much need. The crowd is increasing in the roadside drink shops to quench their thirst.

However, doctors advise not to drink in the open. Because, there is a risk of stomach diseases including jaundice.
