Sheikh Hasina's downfall, curfew in Manipur after Meghalaya

After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh, a curfew or dusk law has been imposed in two districts to prevent infiltration into India’s Seven Sisters state of Manipur.

On Wednesday, the local administration of the north-eastern state of India issued a curfew in Ferjawal and Ziribam districts bordering Assam.

Indian media reported that the magistrates of the two districts issued the law this evening.

Manipur has no international border with Bangladesh. But there is a border with Assam. And Manipur borders with South Assam. And for this reason curfew has been announced in Ferzaol and Ziribam districts of the state adjacent to the Assam border.

Earlier on Monday, Meghalaya, another state in northeastern India, also imposed a night curfew. Bangladesh has about 450 km border with Meghalaya. Source: Deccan Herald
