Sheikh Hasina's phone call to Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of Bangladesh, the government, the Prime Minister’s personal and family for winning the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the third time in a row.

A phone call was held between the two leaders on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the swearing-in ceremony of the new government of India. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina accepted his invitation.

In a phone conversation, Sheikh Hasina said, this victory of NDA was possible due to your (Narendra Modi) strong leadership.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed hope that through this victory, India and its people will advance further in the world arena. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also mentioned the cordial, friendly and good neighborly relations between Bangladesh and India.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated Narendra Modi by sending a letter.

Addressing Modi, Sheikh Hasina wrote, “On behalf of the people of Bangladesh and myself, my heartiest congratulations on the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 18th Lok Sabha elections.”

The results of the Election Commission of India say that the BJP has single-handedly won 240 seats in this election. However, the party will not have any problem in forming the government.

Because, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties have collectively won a total of 53 seats. As a result, BJP can easily form the government with a total of 293 MPs from the party and alliance.
