Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka meet Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is visiting Delhi, at ITC Maurya Hotel on Monday afternoon.

Sonia Gandhi is a member of the Rajya Sabha of the Parliament of India and the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party. Rahul Gandhi is the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Priyanka Gandhi is the General Secretary of the Indian National Congress Party.

Foreign Minister on Monday. Hasan Mahmood said in the briefing that a private meeting was held between the two prime ministers after the swearing-in ceremony of the Modi government’s cabinet on Sunday evening. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited her Indian counterpart to visit Bangladesh at a convenient time in a meeting held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in a very warm and friendly atmosphere.

Later, the two Prime Ministers attended a banquet hosted by the President of India Draupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Senior Ministers of India, Bangladesh delegation, Government invitees and Heads of State attended the dinner. There they had a brief exchange. During the reception, they exchanged greetings.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term on Sunday among the heads of government of the neighboring countries.
