Suicide bombing targeting 5 Japanese in Pakistan

A suicide bombing occurred in Karachi, Pakistan. The attack was carried out targeting the cars of Japanese citizens. The incident took place on Friday (April 19). Japanese citizens luckily survived the attack. Aljazeera news.

A man involved in the attack was shot dead by the police. Karachi Police Spokesperson Abrar Hussain said, “This is a planned attack. The five Japanese officials were on their way to the export processing zone as per their routine. The suicide bomber died while detonating the bomb and the second was killed in the crossfire.’

Police said that a pedestrian and security personnel were injured in the incident.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest province. Meanwhile, the country’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the incident.

Pakistan beefed up security for Chinese engineers working on Beijing-related projects in March after five workers were killed in an earlier suicide attack. The attack came days after security forces killed at least seven militants in an attempt to attack the Gwadar port office in Pakistan’s southwest, considered a mainstay of Chinese investment.

Beijing has poured hundreds of billions of dollars into various projects in Pakistan in recent years; But it has sparked outrage in Balochistan province and Chinese nationals are often attacked.
