Tanker sinks off Oman coast, 16 crew missing including 13 Indians
An oil tanker sank off the coast of Oman. There were 16 sailors in that tanker. 13 of them are Indians. All have been missing since the tanker sank.
The operation to rescue them has already started. But so far no one has been found. Oman’s Maritime Security Center (MSC) reported the information.
The accident occurred 25 nautical miles southeast of Ras Madaraka near the Omani port of Duqm. The tanker was heading to the Yemeni port of Aden. It was at that time that it met with an accident.
However, it is not clear how the accident happened. Even, it is not known whether the oil has fallen into the sea or not. Apart from Indians, there were four Sri Lankans on that ship.
On the other hand, the number of people killed in the gun attack in Oman has increased to six. It is reported that four Pakistanis and one Indian are among them. However, three attackers were also killed.
In a statement, Oman Police said, besides five people, a policeman was also martyred in the attack. 28 people were injured in this incident.
