Taslima's tweet to Amit Shah, did the writer get permission to stay in India?

Taslima Nasreen repeatedly applied to the Center to extend the validity of her stay permit in India, but received no response. Finally, this acclaimed writer tweeted to Amit Shah. Then came a special message.

Taslima Nasreen was born in Bangladesh. A fatwa was issued against her in 1993. At that time, she left her country due to fear of radical Islamists. Since then, she has been living in India for 30 years with a residence permit. However, she did not get citizenship.

Taslima wrote a post to Amit Shah for the renewal of her stay permit in India. On the same day, the writer re-tweeted and thanked Shah, which was meaningful.

On October 21, Taslima Nasreen wrote to Amit Shah on her X handle – Respected Amit Shah, Namaskar. I live in India because I love this country very much. It has become my second home for the last 20 years. But my residency permit is not being extended since July 2022. I am very worried. I will be very grateful if you let me stay in this country. Please accept my respects.

After this post, many people requested the Home Minister in the comments of that post on her behalf to let Taslima stay in this country. After that, although she did not directly write anything about getting a clearance, Taslima’s next post indicates the same.

After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, the radical Islamists have become very active again in the interim government led by Dr. Yunus. Taslima herself has been posting continuously on that issue. In such a situation, the writer became worried as her stay in India expired.
