The coast of Bangladesh is battered by Remal

Cyclone Remal lashed the coastal areas with hypocritical coastal strength. Due to the impact of the strong cyclone, houses and shops have been destroyed and trees have been broken. There were also casualties. Mongla, Shyamnagar of Satkhira, Kalapara of Patuakhali, Kuakata and Khepupara have been rampant by Remal.

In Shyamnagar’s Gabura union, houses and trees were broken by the strong winds that rained overnight. Wind is also blowing in other areas of the district. Dam broke and water entered the locality.

Remal rampage caused extensive damage in Kalapara, Khepupara and Kuakata. Under the influence of this strong cyclone, the lower areas of Barguna and Patuakhali have been flooded by overflowing water of Bishkhali-Sandhya, Payra, Andharmanik, Galachipa and Tetulia rivers.

Lower areas of Patuakhali started flooding due to the advance of Cyclone Remal earlier than expected. The wind has caused a lot of damage in these areas. While protecting the sister and brother from Cyclone Remal in Kalapara. A young man named Sharif (24) has died.

27 villages submerged in Barguna, flood control dam broken. Upazila Executive Office has closed 258 educational institutions of Amtali and Taltali upazilas.

Some areas of Pirojpur’s Mathbaria have been inundated by Baleshwar river water.

Baleshwar, Panguchi-Khasiyakhali and Daratana rivers in Bagerhat are above danger level. Several areas of Sarankhola and Moralganj were flooded. Due to the effect of Remal, the water has risen four feet above normal and flooded the entire Sundarbans. High forest areas including Karamjal are also submerged in tidal water. One side of Sadar Hospital broke and water entered inside. More than five lakh people are without electricity in Bagerhat.

The water of Mongla Shyala river and Pasur river is much above the danger level. Water has entered Jaimuni area through the road.

It is raining under the influence of Remal in the capital. Along with that, the wind is blowing.

Remal is also raining in Chittagong. There is a risk of landslides. In Cox’s Bazar, 21 villages have been flooded by tides in the Bay of Bengal.

Several areas of Hatiya in Noakhali have been flooded. Thousands of people have been trapped in water.

Cyclone Remal has wreaked havoc in Khulna’s disaster-prone coastal upazilas of Dakop, Koira, Paikgacha and Batiaghata.

Due to the impact of this cyclone, many districts of the country including Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Jhalkathi, Barguna, Barisal, Bhola, Patuakhali, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar are experiencing torrential rain.

Meteorologist Dr. Meteorological Department. Abul Kalam Mallik said that the cyclone will rage for more than six hours. Then it will weaken and rise to the ground. By morning it will weaken.

He gave this information in a briefing on the latest situation of Cyclone Remal after 2 o’clock in the morning on Sunday (May 26).

Dr. Mallick said, under the influence of Remal, there will be intermittent rains all over the country on Monday (May 27) and Tuesday (May 28). A gust of wind can blow with it.
