The government created through the coup is the government of everyone in the country: Dr. Yunus
The government created by the student uprising is the government of everyone in the country. Nobel Peace Prize winning economist Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
He made this comment while giving a speech after taking oath at Bangabhaban on Thursday night.
Chief advisor. Yunus said, ‘The most brutal dictatorial government kept the power axed by institutions. We will thwart his efforts and bring back the lost glory of the institutions. Those who have committed the crime by being used in a despicable attempt, will be given due punishment at the earliest through legal process. The same applies to all ministries, organizations, educational institutions and various workplaces of the country. Crimes will be prosecuted everywhere.’
He said, ‘Each institution will enjoy the second freedom by fulfilling its duties, will take the country to the top of glory, will give the countrymen an opportunity to enjoy. On behalf of the nation, I request everyone to come forward to their workplaces without fear, with joy.
Dr. Yunus said, ‘Our students have given their lives to ensure that all the people of the country are free, fearless and untroubled today. The government created through this coup is the government of everyone in the country. Here will be the right to fulfill everyone’s desire.’
“Any free people, including the students, and the law and order forces will thwart it with all their might, whoever the fumes of anarchy spread now.” Gone are the brutal autocratic regimes. With the sunrise tomorrow, everyone will enjoy the government’s strong presence and solidarity in providing opportunities for everyone to live comfortably for democracy, justice, human rights, freedom of expression without fear, regardless of party affiliation. This is our goal, help us achieve our goal,’ he said.
Dr. Yunus also said, ‘The whole world is surprised today saying, “Sabha Bangladesh, Sabha Bangladesh’s students”. We want to take this achievement even further. Nothing is impossible for our students. Our youths are committed to making the impossible possible. If we stay united, stay away from destructive activities, create a free environment for all, we will surely win.’
