State Minister Tajmul Hossain faced the anger of the villagers while visiting the flood-affected areas of Maldah in West Bengal. The angry women of the village chased him with sticks raised. According to the report, Minister Tajmul Hossain visited the erosion-affected area of Rashidpur village of Islampur village panchayat of Harishchandrapur 2 block of Malda on Sunday afternoon. He was accompanied by BDO Tapaskumar Pal and other administrative officers.
After going there, the villagers protested around the Tajmul. They said that the water of Fulhar river has increased a lot in the last few days. A few houses and shops in the village were washed away. But no one in the government took notice. At one point, the women of the village who were angry with the minister and the administration chased them with sticks in their hands.
In this incident, tension spread throughout the area. Later the police brought the situation under control. And Minister Tajmul was taken to another place by boat. He said, the condition of Rashidpur village is very bad. Irrigation Department has done some work. But more work remains.’
