Unraveling the mystery of murder of Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar

Aktaruzzaman Shaheen, his childhood friend and business partner, was the mastermind behind the murder of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency MP Anwarul Azim Anna. Another friend and extremist leader, Amanullah Aman, was tasked with planning and executing this murder. Shaheen came to Bangladesh after drawing the final tableau of the murder sitting in Kolkata. Later, 6 people including Aman killed MP Anar by pressing a pillow first. Later, the body was cut into pieces and taken to an unknown location through a trolley bag.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB Wari Division) has revealed the mystery of this murder. This information was obtained by talking to the people involved in the investigation.

According to sources, 3 people including the leader of East Bengal Communist Party, Aman, who directly participated in the murder, have been arrested.

MP Anwarul Azim Anar’s daughter Doreen has filed a case in the Sherbangla Nagar police station of the capital as a plaintiff in this incident. At the same time, a separate case is also being prepared in Kolkata. Kolkata police arrested a private car driver carrying the body parts.

Confirming the death of MP Anar on Wednesday, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said, “We have come to know that Bangladeshis are involved in the murder of MP Anar.” It is a planned murder. Three people have been arrested so far. An operation is being conducted to arrest some others. The police of the two countries are working jointly on the incident.

DMP Additional Commissioner Haroon Or Rashid said, it is a brutal murder. We are investigating whether it is family, financial, or to quell a miscreant in the area. We are closely working with the Indian Police on the matter.

He also said that a member of parliament was brutally killed by some criminals of Bangladesh. We brought some of them to justice. The rest will also be brought under the law.

As planned
Those related to the investigation said that Aktaruzzaman Shaheen planned to kill MP Anar on the basis of business conflict. Shaheen is a resident of Jhenaidah and a US citizen. His brother is the Mayor of Kotchandpur Municipality in Jhenaidah.

On April 30, Aktaruzzaman Shaheen went to Kolkata with extremist leader Aman and one of his girlfriends named Sylista Rahman. They moved to a duplex flat in Sanjiva Garden in New Town area that they had already rented. Shaheen’s two associates Siam and Jihad were already staying in Kolkata. Sitting there, they plan to kill MP Anar.

Shaheen returned to the country on May 10, explaining the full responsibility of the murder to Aman. As planned, Aman took two more hired killers from Bangladesh to Kolkata. Two hired killers named Faisal Shaji and Mostafiz went to Calcutta on May 11 and joined Aman.

How to kill
According to the information obtained during the interrogation of Aman, the DB police officials said that Shaheen already knew that MP Anar would go to Kolkata on May 12. He asks him to make all preparations for killing. They also collected multiple chapatis to kill MP Anar.

On May 12, MP Annar went to Kolkata through Darshana border at Chuadanga. On the first day he stays at his friend Gopal’s house. The next day on May 13, MP Anar was called to that flat in New Town by the killers.

In the afternoon, MP Anar entered the flat in Sanjiva Garden. Aman along with his accomplices Faisal, Mustafiz, Siam and Jihad held the MP hostage. At this time, they also asked the MP to pay the money owed by Shaheen. At one stage of the argument about the matter, everyone killed Anar by holding him with a pillow. After the murder, Aman told the matter to Shaheen.

Many pieces were made to hide the body
According to the information given by Aman, DB police officials said that MP Anar was cut into pieces to hide the body as suggested by Shaheen. After that, two big trolley bags and polythene were brought from the shopping mall near the flat. Carcass pieces of MP pineapple are wrapped in polythene and packed in trolley bags. On the night of the incident, two trolleybags containing the body parts were kept in the house. In between, they bring bleaching powder from outside and clean the blood stains in the house.

The concerned said that the Kolkata Police has collected all the CCTV footage of the flat and the surrounding buildings. Analysis of the CCTV footage shows Aman and his associates carrying trolley bags, MP Anar’s shoes inside. Apart from this, there is a scene of Shaheen’s girlfriend Silista Rahman bringing polythene and bleaching powder from outside in the CCTV footage.

Those concerned said that after analyzing Aman’s confession and CCTV footage during the initial interrogation, Aman came out of the house with a trolley bag in the afternoon after the murder. He told the police during interrogation that he left the house and handed over the trolley bag to Siam in front of a nearby shopping mall. Siam took the bag and left for an unknown location in their pre-rented car.

However, the driver told the Kolkata Police that Siam got down from the car with the bag after going some distance.

Aman said that another bag with body parts was in the house. The bad smell also started emanating from that bag. On May 15, Sylista came to Dhaka with the instructions to throw the bag with the pieces of the body somewhere else.

DB Police officials said that after the murder, according to Aman’s instructions, two of his associates took the two mobile phones used by MP Anar and went in two directions, so that the investigators or the law enforcement forces were confused about the location of MP Anar.

Later on May 17 Mustafiz and May 18 Faisal returned to Bangladesh.

5 crore contract
During interrogation, Aman said that Aktaruzzaman Shaheen wanted to pay Tk 5 crore to kill MP Anwarul Azim Anar. He was paid some money before the murder. The rest of the money was supposed to be paid after the murder. After the success of their mission, Aman comes to Dhaka tasking Siam and Jihad to hide the pieces of Anar’s body. Came to Dhaka and met Aktaruzzaman Shaheen. However, Aktaruzzaman Shaheen did not give any answer as to how much money was given to him later.

A DB police official said that Aman is trying to avoid many things during the initial interrogation. After the case, he will be remanded and questioned. Then maybe many more questions will be answered.

DB Police officials said that Aman was hiding in his sister’s house in Mohammadpur after coming to Dhaka. He was arrested from there.

Shaheen fled to the United States
Those concerned also said that Aktaruzzaman Shaheen came to Dhaka on May 10 after planning the murder. When the issue of missing MP Anwarul Azim was discussed in the country, he again went to Nepal via India on May 18. On May 21, he left Nepal for Dubai. On May 22, he crossed from Dubai to the United States.

Shaheen’s address in the United States is said to be 379 East Seventh Street in Brooklyn, New York.

Behind the scenes is gold smuggling money sharing
DB Police officials said that behind the brutal killing of MP Anwarul Azim, it is suspected that there is a conflict over the sharing of gold smuggling money. Aktaruzzaman Shaheen himself is a gold smuggler. MP Anwarul Azim is also accused of gold smuggling. Shaheen and Azim have a joint business in Kolkata.

According to those concerned, this murder took place with the sharing of huge money of gold smuggling.

Who is this Aman?
Those concerned said that the full name of Aman who led the killing of MP Anna as a hired killer is Amanullah Saeed. He studied in the Department of Bengali Language and Literature, Rajshahi University. He was the leader of East Bengal Communist Party (Red Flag). He was imprisoned till 1997 on the charge of killing a man named Ganesh in Jessore’s Abhaynagar area in 1991. Later he was again arrested in 2000 for the murder of another man named Iman. He was imprisoned until 2013. After getting out of jail on bail, he worked as a hired killer.

It is known that Amanullah’s village house is in Phultala Damodar area of Khulna. His father’s name is Qaiser Saeed. Mother’s name is Dolana Begum. Wife Farzana Akhter. There are several cases against him in different parts of the country including the southwestern part of the country.

The case will also be filed in Kolkata
According to related sources, a case is going on in Kolkata in MP Anwarul Azim’s murder. The local police of Kolkata raided the flat and collected blood samples. MP Anar’s identity will be confirmed through DNA testing.

The concerned said that, at the same time, the members of Kolkata’s law and order force have reached the field in search of the pieces of the body while maintaining constant communication with the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB). For this reason, efforts are being made to arrest the absconding accused. Efforts are on to find out where the body parts were dumped.
