The sixth phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections also saw incidents of violence in several places in West Bengal.

A Trinamool leader was allegedly murdered at Mahishadal in East Medinipur district on Friday night, hours before polling began. Sheikh Moibul, a former member of the local Betkundu village panchayat, was returning home on a motorcycle at night. At that time he was attacked.

First, Moibul was beaten with a sharp weapon. After that, it was alleged that he was thrown into the pond in a bloody state. The death of Moibul, known as a Dapute leader in the area, caused tension in the area. The opposition party BJP has denied the allegations of this murder.

Abhijit Ganguly faced protests by local people in Haldia under this centre. When he went to a local polling station after receiving allegations of rigging, the BJP candidate’s car was surrounded and chanted ‘go back’. Tensions flared in moments. Then the police and central forces were brought down.

Trinamool has accused Trinamool of attacking Jhargram’s BJP candidate Pranath Tudu in an unprovoked manner. Bricks and stones were pelted like rain at the candidate. His personal security guard was allegedly beheaded.

Pranat claimed that 100 to 200 people attacked. Rohingyas are among the attackers. Today I would not have returned alive if not for the security guard.
