What the foreign advisor of Bangladesh said on the request to send hilsa to India

Advisor on foreign affairs of the interim government of Bangladesh. Tauhid Hossain said, except for one group, all are extremists, their (India’s) narrative needs to be changed.

The foreign affairs adviser said this in the wake of Rahul Gandhi’s statement that India is concerned about the presence of extremism in Bangladesh.

He said this while talking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday evening.

According to Indian media NDTV, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke about Bangladesh in response to a question from journalists at the National Press Club in Washington. He commented that India is concerned about the presence of extremism in Bangladesh. A journalist drew the attention of the foreign affairs adviser in this regard.

In response, the advisor said, I think they need to change this narrative. All but one group are extremists, such is the narrative being promoted in the media. I think India needs to come out of it.

Tauhid Hossain said, the second thing is that the information that we have here is that the extremists are doing something big, it is not like that. None of those in the government have any such agenda, no such background. I think they need to come out of this statement. It is good for the relations between the two countries.

The Fish Importers Association of India has sent a letter to the interim government for the export of hilsa on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja. The letter requesting the Foreign Affairs Adviser to send Hilsa reached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

When asked about this, Tauhid Hossain said, “I saw the paper 15 minutes ago and said that it will be decided by the concerned ministries of the government.” We have no decision to export fish.
