Who is this Indian judge Dalveer who ruled against Israel?

Many countries have been calling for a cease-fire for the past few months to the occupying Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Friend America has also tried. However, Netanyahu could not be convinced in the end. However, with the Indian judge ruling against Israel, India has come to a new discussion.

Many people think that India did not take any side in the Palestine-Israel conflict, but what message did New Delhi send by ruling against Israel?

On Friday, the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to stop its attacks on Rafah, a town on the southern border of the Gaza Strip.

Israel, however, rejected the international court’s ruling. South Africa filed a case against Israel in the International Court of Genocide.
Based on that, the International Court of Justice said on Friday that Israel must immediately stop the deadly attacks on the Gaza Strip. At the same time, Netanyahu’s country has to keep an eye on the Palestinians so that they don’t suffer any harm.

13 of the 15 judges of the International Court of Justice ruled against Israel. Only one judge from Israel and Uganda dissented from the panel.

One of these 13 judges is Dalbir Bhandari. He was India’s representative at the International Court of Justice. Dalbir also ruled against Israel along with 12 other judges.

Dalbir was born in 1947, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He gained considerable reputation as a lawyer. Became Chief Justice of Bombay High Court. After being promoted, he became a Supreme Court judge in 2005.

Dalbir has been associated with the International Court of Justice since 2012. He heard several international cases including allegations of genocide, nuclear disarmament, violation of sovereignty rights.

In 2014 Dalveer was awarded the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India. Dalbir’s law school, Northwestern University in Chicago, has named him one of the 15 best alumni of 150 years.

On Friday, the International Court of Justice under the control of the United Nations said that Israel is accused of genocide.

The world’s top court has also informed that Israel must immediately suspend the war to protect the Palestinians who have taken refuge near the Rafah border near Egypt in Gaza.

Nawaf Salam, the president of this court located in The Hague, the capital of the Netherlands, said that Rafa’s current situation is dire. But there is still no infrastructure or international rules to enforce court rulings. Israel is exploiting this gap in the law for now. The statement of the members of the wartime cabinet of that country, they will not obey any order of the court.

India, however, has not directly taken any side in the Israel-Hamas conflict. However, in a recent BSF discussion, India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval praised Israel.

According to Doval, Israel is protecting its borders despite attacks by Hamas or other “terrorists”. Doval said that behind this success of Israel, their “spy agency” has a special contribution.
