The Prime Minister of Bangladesh is returning home today after shortening his visit to Beijing

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is returning home on Wednesday night after cutting short her visit to Beijing. According to the pre-arranged schedule, the head of government was supposed to return to Dhaka next Thursday after the bilateral visit to China.

Diplomatic sources confirmed that the Prime Minister’s visit to China was cut short, but did not reveal the exact reason for such a decision.

An official staying in Beijing as the head of government’s travel companion said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the officials associated with the trip preparations to make arrangements to return to the country on July 10, immediately after arriving in Beijing on July 8.

The Department of Political Affairs immediately undertook to implement the directive, according to which all preparations for the flight were completed at 10 pm Beijing local time. According to the revised schedule, the special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines is scheduled to depart from Beijing Capital International Airport carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage and arrive in Dhaka on Wednesday midnight Bangladesh time.

It may be recalled that the Prime Minister will meet with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang before noon on Wednesday and the country’s President Xi Jinping in the afternoon. 20 to 22 agreements are likely to be signed between the two meetings.
