Judge, you must answer to Allah: Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan slammed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman during the Toshakhana case hearing on Sunday.

He said, “Put me in jail, but release my wife.” Why have you detained her?” Bushra also commented that Bibi was imprisoned only to make him (Imran) suffer.

The former prime minister objected to the absence of the media at the start of the hearing at the makeshift court set up in Adiala jail on Sunday. He said, “If the media is not allowed, I will leave the court.”

The court later ordered media representatives to be brought inside the jail and the hearing began after their arrival.

Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were recently acquitted in a major case related to ‘illegal marriage’. However, just a few hours later, he was arrested in another case.

On this day in the court he directly addressed the judge and emphasized that his wife Bushra Bibi has no connection with the Toshakhana case.

Imran Khan said to the judge at this time, “I studied the Holy Quran four times a day while sitting in jail and it (Quran) has given a great responsibility to the judges.” Judge, you must answer to Allah, not to the ISI. Judge Bashir said, this decision was taken against me at gunpoint. ‘

Accusing the higher authorities of targeting his wife Bushra Bibi only to harass her, Imran said, “My wife is being targeted to make me suffer.” Because I removed him from the ISI post and my wife also did not support him.’

Imran commented angrily at this time, “A former prime minister is being told in the middle of the night that he has to appear for a new case in the morning.”

He also criticized the Accountability Watchdog (NAB). Allegedly, the organization works like robots, not doing what they are paid to do.

After the hearing, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were remanded for 8 days. The couple sat together throughout the court hearing.
