In the by-election in India, the victory of the 'India' alliance

The ruling BJP is under a lot of pressure in the lower house of the Parliament without getting the expected single majority in the Lok Sabha elections. Narendra Modi raised the slogan ‘Ab ki bar, 400 par’ with a big face. But could not do 300.

BJP is stuck in 240 Lok Sabha seats. The coalition partners were forced to manage and form the government. The BJP-led coalition NDA suffered a major setback in the by-elections of seven states including West Bengal.
In the by-elections to the Lok Sabha seats in India, the opposition electoral alliance ‘India’ has put the BJP in a tough fight. They are leading in 10 by-elections of 13 seats in seven states held last Wednesday. BJP won only two of the remaining three seats. An independent candidate won one seat.

Two Uttarakhand state seats—Badrinath and Mangalore—are also held by Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi’s Congress. BJP won one seat. Apart from this, the Aam Aadmi Party (UP) won the Jalandhar West Assembly in Punjab and the DMK won in Vikrabandi in Tamil Nadu.

BJP won in Amarwada in Madhya Pradesh. BJP wins Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. Dehra was won by the Congress candidate, Kamlesh, wife of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. Congress also won in Nalagarh. An independent candidate won a seat in Bihar.

BJP lost three seats in West Bengal by-elections. Trinamool won Raiganj, Ranaghat South, Bagda and Manikatla by-elections. But in the elections of 2021, the first three were held by the BJP.

Congress MLA from Uttarakhand’s Badrinath Rajendra Singh Bhandari joined the BJP and by-elections were held in that constituency. The seats fell vacant due to the deaths of BSP MLA Sarwat Karim Ansari in Mangalore in that state and DMK MLA N Pugajahethi in Tamil Nadu’s Vikrabandi. AAP MLA Sheetal Angural Rinkur from Jalandhar West in Punjab joined the BJP on Wednesday. Dehra, Hamirpur and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh were won by independent candidates in 2022. They later resigned legally before joining the BJP. The seat fell vacant as Congress MLA Kamlesh Pratap Shah from Amarwada in Madhya Pradesh joined the BJP.

Bima Devi, JD(U) MLA from Rupauli in Bihar joined the RJD. Only then by-elections are held in this centre. Bima stood on RJD ticket in Rupauli this time. JDU gives ticket to Kaladhar Prasad Mandal. But independent candidate Shankar Singh won this seat by leaving these two candidates behind.
