Suicide attack on cantonment in Pakistan, 18 killed including 8 soldiers

Terrorists have carried out a suicide attack in Pakistan’s Bannu Cantonment. 18 people including eight army personnel of that camp were killed.

This information was given in a report of the Pakistan-based media The News International on Tuesday.

As many as 10 terrorists were killed while trying to enter Bannu Cantonment, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday. In this incident, when the attackers tried to enter the cantonment, they were repelled. Due to which the terrorists detonated the vehicle loaded with explosives by ramming the cantonment wall. Eight soldiers were killed.

The deceased army personnel are Naib Subedar Muhammad Shehzad, Habildar Zil-e-Hussain, Habildar Shahzad Ahmed, Sepoy Ashfaq Hussain Khan, Sepoy Sobhan Majeed, Sepoy Imtiaz Khan, Sepoy Arsalan Aslam and Lance Naik Sabj Ali of Frontier Constabulary.

As a result of the suicide blast, a part of the wall collapsed and the surrounding infrastructure was damaged.

The ISPR said in a statement that the Pakistani troops responded effectively to the terrorists and as a result all ten terrorists were killed in the ensuing operation.

The timely and effective response of the security forces averted a major disaster and saved precious innocent lives, the statement added. This heroic and selfless action by the security forces is a testament to the unrelenting determination of the troops in the fight against terrorism.
