The number of deaths due to violence in the quota movement was announced by the Home Minister of Bangladesh

Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that 147 people have died so far around the quota reform movement.

He told this information to reporters at the secretariat on Sunday.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, rumors of 500 deaths are being spread due to violence. So far, 147 deaths have been reported from hospital sources.

He said that the details of how many students were killed in the violence were not yet known. More information will be verified.

The Home Minister said that the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement have been taken into DB custody due to insecurity. They were not arrested. Their return will be considered only after the security risk is cleared.
