Imran Khan approved the formation of a strong 'grand alliance'

Imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan has approved the formation of a ‘grand alliance’ by expanding the existing platform Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Ain-e-Pakistan to build a strong anti-government movement in Pakistan.

Recently a senior leader of Imran’s party named Asad Qaiser said this.

A report in the Times of India on Friday claimed this.

According to the report, former Speaker of Pakistan National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided to expand the opposition coalition in a meeting with Imran Khan on Thursday.

According to Geo News, Kaiser announced at the time that the former ruling party PTI will unite all opposition parties to form a strong anti-government movement.

He said the party’s upcoming show of strength in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swabi was aimed at raising a “strong voice” for the release of the PTI founder and other detained leaders.

Kaiser emphasized that Pakistan will be governed only by the rule of law and the constitution. At that time, he also criticized the current Muslim League (Nawaz)-led coalition government over the sky-high electricity bill.
In his speech, Kaiser said that this increased electricity bill is a “death blow” for the people who are devastated by inflation.

The PTI leader also said that they support the ongoing sit-in strike by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) against the massively increased power bill. which has been running since last July 26 at Murree Road in Rawalpindi.

However, Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman said his party PTI will not be part of the proposed grand alliance. Because history says, opposition parties use such platforms only for their own interests.

Naeem ur Rahman told reporters on Thursday, “We will maintain the same position as the opposition parties on some issues and hold meetings with them.” But we will not be part of any coalition.

Meanwhile, in the same press conference, PTI Secretary General Umar Ayub called upon the countrymen to attend the public meeting in Swabi on August 5 in large numbers from all over the country to express solidarity with the former Prime Minister.

Responding to the PTI founder’s criticism after he raised the demand for dialogue with the Pakistan Army, Ayub said that they did not discuss dialogue. However, Imran Khan has made it clear that Pakistan’s military works for the nation and stands against all conspiracies against it.

He also accused the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of trying to drive a wedge between the country’s army and the nation.

Commenting on the case against the jailed former prime minister, the opposition leader said that they are fighting legally for the release of Imran Khan.

Umar Ayub then blamed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for not releasing Pakistan’s former First Lady Bushra Bibi despite having nothing to do with the Toshakhana corruption case.

The PTI Secretary General then demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa and Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Amer Farooq to withdraw themselves from the hearing of the PTI founder’s case.

He said PTI believes that Imran Khan is being arrested in more cases on the orders of the powerful military to ensure that he does not get out of jail.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was first arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a £190 million corruption case. But now more than two hundred cases have been filed against him and he has been in jail since August last year.
