20 killed in heavy rains in Rajasthan

20 people have been killed in flash floods caused by heavy rains in the Indian state of Rajasthan in the last few days. They were killed in different places of the state last Saturday and Sunday.

In a report this information was given by the Indian media NDTV.

According to the report, the roads of Jaipur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur and Dausa have been flooded due to heavy rains. Schools have been closed in many parts of the state due to rain.

The district administration announced closure of schools in Jaipur, Jaipur Rural Area, Dausa, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur and Bharatpur on Monday following the inundation.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in several districts of the state.

Meanwhile, five youths died after drowning in Jaipur’s overflowing Kanota dam. Although a search operation was carried out, they were not found until late Sunday night.

Besides, seven boys drowned in Banganga river near Srinagar village in Bharatpur district.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has called an emergency meeting in Jaipur to review the disaster management situation. He said, “I have held a meeting with the officials in the Chief Minister’s office regarding the heavy rains in the state and have given necessary instructions to strengthen all measures related to disaster management immediately.”
