Will Zelensky accept Modi's invitation to visit India?

Narendra Modi became the first Prime Minister of India to visit Ukraine. Modi visited Ukraine on Friday (August 23). At that time, the Prime Minister of India invited the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to visit India. In response, Zelensky said that he would be very happy to visit India.

Modi invited Zelensky to come to India during a meeting held in Kiev. Later, when Zelensky was asked about Modi’s invitation at a media briefing, he told NDTV, “He would love to come to India.”

Zelensky also said that the sooner the better, but the matter of visiting India depends on the situation in Ukraine, the President of Ukraine said.

Zelensky said, “When you start a strategic partnership with a country, and the dialogue between the two countries starts, I think there is no time to waste.” It will not be right to give any big break between the two countries. So I think it will be good if we meet again. If it happens in India, I will be very happy.”

Calling India a big and great country, Zelensky said it would be sad not to be able to visit India. Besides, Zelensky also commented that it is a bit difficult for him because of the war with Russia.

Zelensky said, “We need your country’s support to overcome the current situation in Ukraine.” That is why I will always be interested in going to India. I will visit India only when your government is ready to welcome me.’

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday told Volodymyr Zelensky that both Ukraine and Russia should sit together without wasting time to end the ongoing war. Modi also said that India is ready to play an active role in restoring peace in the region.

In the discussion with Zelensky, Modi also said that India has been in favor of peace since the beginning of the conflict in February 2022 and even if necessary, he wants to personally contribute to a peaceful resolution of the crisis, Medi said.

Modi left for Ukraine after a meeting in Poland on Thursday (August 22). After about 20 hours of train journey, we arrived in the capital city of Kiev.
