Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with President Joe Biden during his three-day visit to the United States.
On Saturday (September 21), he also participated in the Quad conference.
In the meeting held at Biden’s private residence in Delaware, USA, besides discussing various issues, Modi also raised the issue of Bangladesh. However, it was not revealed what exactly was discussed between them.
After Sheikh Hasina left power on August 5, Modi raised the issue of Bangladesh in a telephone conversation with Biden. At that time, he sought the assistance of the United States in terms of regional stability and the security of the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, after the meeting with Biden, Modi said on the social media X Post that the meeting was very successful. He also said that regional and global issues were discussed there.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs issued a press release on the meeting between Modi and Biden. It has been said that India and the United States will work more unitedly to strengthen global and regional cooperation, including in the Indo-Pacific region.
Modi arrived in the US on Saturday on a three-day visit to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Meanwhile, the chief adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh to attend the same meeting of the United Nations. Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to leave Dhaka tomorrow Monday night for New York.
