85 Bangladeshis returned to Bangladesh from Myanmar

85 Bangladeshis have returned to the country after serving different periods of imprisonment in Myanmar. On Sunday morning, they returned to BIDWTA wharf in Nunyarchhara, Cox’s Bazar from the Myanmar waters in a Bangladeshi privately owned ship, Karnaphuli Tug-1.

Meanwhile, 123 Myanmar Border Guard Force (BGP) and army personnel who fled to Bangladesh due to the unrest in Rakhine state were brought to the same ghat half an hour earlier. After the extradition process, they were sent back to Myanmar.

Mohammad Salahuddin, Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, said that 85 Bangladeshis have returned home after their imprisonment. Also 123 people from Myanmar have been sent back to their country. Among them are 8 Army personnel and 115 BGPs.
