160 Pakistani MPs ‘retaliate’ for letter from 60 US Congressmen
Last week, 60 members of the US House of Representatives urged President Joe Biden to take the initiative to release former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan from prison. In light of this, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry sent a strong message to the United States. Finally, more than a hundred members of the Pakistani parliament have recently written a letter to the country’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Geo News reported.
The position of the US lawmakers has been mentioned as a skewed view of reality in the letter written by the Pakistani MPs. It is written there that this letter is to express our concern about the unreasonable and incorrect comments made by 62 members of the US House of Representatives about Pakistan’s internal politics.
The letter has been signed by 160 Pakistani lawmakers. Among them are the top leaders of the country’s main political parties. The Pakistani MPs have referred to the letter written by the US lawmakers to Biden regarding the release of Imran Khan as external interference.
In a letter last week, the congressmen, all of whom were members of Biden’s Democratic Party, called for Imran’s release, taking advantage of the United States’ relatively favorable position in Islamabad-Washington diplomatic relations.
