Pakistan wants to send relief to flood victims in Malaysia

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wants to send relief to flood victims in Malaysia. Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the matter through a post on his Facebook page and X on Saturday (November 30).

Anwar Ibrahim wrote in the post, ‘This afternoon, I received a phone call from our ally Shehbaz Sharif from Pakistan. Over the phone, he expressed his interest in sending assistance to flood-affected Malaysians.’

In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz sought the safety and well-being of more than 140,000 people affected by floods in several states in Malaysia.

Anwar praised Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz’s generous nature and expressed his gratitude. The Malaysian Prime Minister also welcomed the donation as a sign of close friendship between Malaysia and Pakistan.

Thanking the Pakistani government for this sympathy, Anwar also invited Shehbaz to visit Malaysia early next year.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is currently visiting flood-hit Terengganu Setiu. Apart from Terengganu, eight other states including Kelantan, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, Johor, Melaka, Perak and Selangor have been hit by severe floods.

As of Saturday afternoon, 142,684 people have been evacuated to relief camps in various states in Malaysia.
