Adani finally opens up on bribery scandal

The Adani issue has recently heated up the Indian political arena. Opposition leaders have accused the Modi government of siding with Adani. However, Gautam Adani, who is at the center of the main incident, has not commented on the matter so far.
Adani attended an award ceremony in Rajasthan, India on Saturday (November 30). This was the first time the billionaire appeared in public after an arrest warrant was issued in a US court. This time, he opened up about the bribery scandal against his business.
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said that his company is committed to following world-class regulatory policies. They have faced such challenges many times before. Every attack makes the Adani Group stronger and every obstacle motivates them to move forward more firmly.
He said, “Despite many biased reports, no one from the Adani Group has been charged with any violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act or conspiracy to obstruct justice. In today’s world, negativity spreads faster than truth. As we go through the legal process, I want to reiterate that we are fully committed to upholding world-class human rights standards.”
Meanwhile, the US court has not provided any information to India about the arrest warrants for the other three, including Adani. This was announced by Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Friday local time.
He also said that no request has been made to summon the accused or send notices regarding the arrest warrants.
