‘Bangladesh will be shaken if India sends a Rafale fighter jet’

Bangladesh will be shaken if India decides to send a Rafale fighter jet, BJP leader from West Bengal state of India, Subhendu Adhikari, has said. Bangladesh has no idea about India’s military capabilities. They should learn about India’s strength from the United States, Russia and China.
According to the report of the Indian media Times of India, Subhendu, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal assembly, said this while addressing a rally in Kanthi on Sunday.
Subhendu Adhikari said that they should remember that Bangladesh has to depend on India even for items like potatoes and onions. A country that cannot even produce a packet of iodized salt should know its own limitations.
Meanwhile, Union Minister and West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar said on Saturday night that it would be difficult for the Bangladesh Army to handle the civic volunteers of West Bengal.
This force was formed in 2013 to assist the West Bengal police. At that time, it was called the Civic Police Volunteers. Later, in 2014, the word ‘police’ was dropped from the force’s name. Their main responsibility is to control traffic and manage crowds at fairs and festivals.
Sukant Majumder said that the civic volunteers alone are enough to stop the Bangladesh army. However, those who are making such comments on the streets of Dhaka do not hold any government positions.
Sukant made this comment in the context of the statements of some former Bangladeshi officials.
Referring to the people of Bangladesh, Sukant said that Bangladeshis have shown how religious fanaticism blinds people. What is happening to the minority community is painful. However, the people of Bengal must be careful, because such forces are trying to incite hatred and violence in India.
On Sunday, BJP leader and Telangana MLA T Raja Singh asked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to open the Bangladesh border for 15 minutes so that he can fight against the alleged atrocities being committed against minority Hindus in Bangladesh and clear the situation. During this, he also tore the Bangladesh flag.
Citing Bangladesh, Raja Singh claimed that Hindus are being killed and their shops are being looted in the neighboring country.
At this time, he took out a sword and said that this sword is not just for keeping in a sheath. It should be in every Hindu’s house.
Such a threat from BJP leaders came at a time when Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri arrived in Bangladesh on a one-day visit on Monday. Although his visit was claimed to be pre-planned, those concerned believe that it could be an opportunity to mitigate the ongoing coldness between the two countries.
