Imran strongly condemns those spreading online slander about Arab countries

Imran Khan not seeking release in ongoing talks with government

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned the propaganda spread on social media against Arab countries. The jailed leader said that he has distanced himself from accounts that spread such content.

This was reported by The Express Tribune on Thursday (January 9).

His lawyer Faisal Chaudhry faced reporters after meeting Imran at Adiala Jail.

Faisal said that Imran Khan has expressed his displeasure with those spreading online slander.

Imran Khan said that he does not support any social media account that spreads false information about Arab countries, his wife Bushra Bibi or martyrs.

Recently, Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi recently claimed in a video message that Saudi Arabia played a role in removing Imran Khan from the post of Prime Minister. Bushra Bibi’s statement has created controversy in Pakistani political circles and is expected to affect relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan and Arab countries have historically had close ties. Such propaganda can damage Pakistan’s diplomatic relations. Imran Khan wants to protect these relations and avoid any diplomatic complications in the future.

However, Imran has said through his lawyer that the accounts involved in spreading these statements have no connection with PTI or any of its members and their actions do not reflect the position of PTI.

Imran’s lawyer claimed that the PTI’s negotiating committee has been excluded from important meetings, which is being seen as a plot to disrupt peace talks.

He also said that Imran Khan has formed a committee under the leadership of Qazi Anwar to investigate the issue of missing persons and this committee is expected to prepare its report by Sunday.

Faisal Chaudhry also said that Imran Khan has filed a petition in the court regarding the conditions of his jail. The court ordered him to be allowed to talk to his children on the phone, receive medical care, and be given the opportunity to read books.
