'Israel has destroyed Gaza's education system,' says Malala

Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has expressed her anger that Israel has destroyed the entire education system in Gaza.

Malala made this statement while participating in a conference titled ‘Women’s Education in the Muslim Community: Challenges and Opportunities’ in Islamabad on Sunday (January 12). Education ministers from various Muslim countries around the world are participating in this two-day conference. Arab News reported.

In her speech on the second day of the conference, Malala said, ‘Israel has destroyed the entire education system in Gaza. They have bombed all universities and destroyed more than 90 percent of schools. They have also indiscriminately attacked civilians who have taken refuge in school buildings.’

Malala also said, ‘I will continue to protest against Israel’s violations of international law and human rights. ’

She said, ‘Palestinian children have lost their lives and future. If a Palestinian girl’s school is bombed and her family members are killed, she has no future. ‘

When Malala Yousafzai was a 15-year-old schoolgirl, she was shot by Pakistani ‘terrorists’ angry at her education movement. After this incident, she was transferred to the UK. There she recovered and became the youngest Nobel Prize winner at the age of 17.

Malala has only been to Pakistan twice since 2012. This is her third visit to her home country.

Incidentally, on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a surprise attack on southern Israel. In protest, the Israeli army launched an attack on the besieged Palestinian Gaza Strip from that day, which continues to this day. More than 46,000 Palestinians were killed in this Israeli attack and more than 100,000 were injured.
