Nepal’s Newly appointed ministers take oath of office and secrecy

President Paudel on Wednesday had assigned ministerial portfolios to three newly appointed ministers as recommended by the prime minister.

Kathmandu: Newly appointed ministers took an oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.

President Ramchandra Paudel administered oath to the ministers at Sheetal Niwas, the President’s Office.

President Paudel on Wednesday had assigned ministerial portfolios to three newly appointed ministers as recommended by the prime minister.

The President’s office in a statement had said the head of state assigned ministerial posts to the lawmakers on the recommendation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Three Nepali Congress lawmakers, Dhan Raj Gurung, Mohan Bahadur Basnet and Dig Bahadur Limbu, were appointed ministers on Wednesday. NC vice-president Gurung has been appointed as the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

Basnet has been given the Ministry of Health and Population and Limbu will head the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The Nepali Congress has been allocated eight ministries in the coalition government.
