Male: Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Friday, returned to the Maldives after concluding an official to Antigua and Barbuda to attend the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4).

The President, who also co-chaired the conference, delivered Maldives’ statement at the conference, during which he called on the international community to honor its past commitments and meet SIDS’s tailored financing needs. In this regard, he said the international community must provide SIDS with credit enhancement measures, and reduce costs of borrowing.

He also condemned the acts of violence and aggression by Israel and called on the leaders of SIDS for collective solidarity with the people of Palestine.

They included: Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer; Environment Minister Toriq Ibrahim; Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haidar; Climate Envoy Ali Shareef; HDC’s Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed; and Ambassador-at-large Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed.
