Nepal has already released a new map including the three disputed territories of India. Now the government of the country has announced to print a new bank note of 100 rupees with that map. Meanwhile the new design of the note has been revealed.

According to a report by NDTV, on Friday (May 3), the government of Nepal announced the printing of new bank notes with new maps. In that map, three disputed areas bordering India, Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani are shown as belonging to Nepal.

Like Nepal, India also claims the three border areas as its own. India has already protested against such steps of neighboring countries. New Delhi termed the move as an attempt to “artificially expand the area” and was “unsupportable”.

Nepal government spokesperson Rekha Sharma said that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal took this decision to print the new map of Nepal on the 100 rupees bank note in the cabinet meeting. The map will have Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani.

The Minister of Information and Communication Department also said that the decision taken by the government on the new design of Rs 100 bank notes has been approved by the Cabinet. A series of meetings were held from April 25 to May 2 to decide on new bank notes.

On 18th June 2020 Nepal government made new map. There also Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani are included in the map. New Delhi expressed strong anger about it. India then termed it as a ‘misguided unilateral move’.

India has a border of 1850 km with Nepal. Among them are five states. Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Uttarakhand border India-Nepal. There is a conflict between the two countries over the three border areas of Lipulekh, Kalapani, Limpiyadhura.
