Two Bangladeshis injured in BSF firing along Brahmanbaria border

He said that the BSF personnel opened fire on them in the morning when the two farmers went near the bordering area with their cows.

Dhaka: Two Bangladeshi farmers were injured as Indian Border Security Force opened fire on them along Indo-Bangla border at Dhwajnagar under Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday.

The injured victims are Azam Ali Bhuiyan, 55, son of Nur Ali Bhuiyan, and Iqbal Bhuiyan, 45, son of Lokman Bhuiyan of Dhwajnagar village.

BGB 60 Battalion commander lieutenant colonel Ashiq Hasan Ullah confirmed the news.

He said that the BSF personnel opened fire on them in the morning when the two farmers went near the bordering area with their cows.

The BGB official said that the locals noticed the incident and rushed them to Kasba Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

He said that the victims were in Bangladesh territory when they received bullets.

He said that the two farmers who were shot were now out of danger.

The officer also said that they protested the incident by informing the senior officers of BSF.

Kasba police station officer-in-charge Md Mohiuddin said that the injured farmers returned home after taking treatment.
