Visa Waiver Agreement between Bangladesh and East Timor

Bangladesh and East Timor have signed a visa waiver agreement to take their relations to a new level. In addition, the two countries have also signed a memorandum of understanding on Office Consultation (FOC).
The agreement and memorandum of understanding were signed on Sunday at the office of the Chief Advisor in Dhaka in the presence of the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Muhammad Yunus, and the President of East Timor, Jose Ramos Horta.
Bangladesh’s Home Affairs Advisor Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and East Timor’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Dr. Bendito dos Santos Freitas signed the agreement on visa waiver for diplomatic and official passport holders.
In addition, Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain and Dr. Benedito dos Santos Freitas signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Office Consultation (FOC).
President Horta arrived in Dhaka on Saturday night for a three-day visit.
On Sunday, he met with the East Timorese President’s Chief Advisor, Muhammad Yunus, at his office and participated in the delegation’s discussions.
