Imran Khan blames conspiracy behind conviction

Jailed PTI chief and former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has told a court that the convictions against him and his family were intended to pressure him and stop him from participating in politics. It was a conspiracy hatched from London.
He said his party had become a challenge to political opponents, which was threatening their chances of remaining in power.
The 71-year-old cricketer and politician recorded his statement in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court, which covered why he was charged in the £190 million case and why witnesses testified against him.
Imran Khan, who has been in jail since last year, was asked 79 questions and his statement was recorded under Section 342 of the CrPC (Criminal Procedure Code).
The former prime minister explained the political context, claiming that the rise of his party has become a threat to political opponents after April 10, 2022.
He said that former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was involved in a foreign conspiracy to topple the PTI government, which led to a concerted effort by politicians, government officials and law enforcement agencies to undermine his popularity. This resulted in repression against him and his family members, as well as against his party.
He reiterated that former army chief General Bajwa, as part of a conspiracy planned through American diplomat Donald Lu, wanted to implement the London Plan by disregarding the will of the people of Pakistan by forming a conspiracy involving Supreme Court judges, politicians, government officials, police and administrative officials.
Imran Khan further said that after the fall of the government in 2022, when he contested the by-elections and got a two-thirds majority, his political opponents started filing false cases against him and thus the fascist era began in Pakistan.
He said that his party members had to endure intimidation, kidnapping, torture and inhuman physical torture. The honor of the house was violated, women were arrested, even the elderly and physically challenged were tortured. All this was done so that they would leave the PTI.
Imran Khan alleged that false cases were filed against his political associates and they were put in jail, especially after the false raid of May 9.
He further said that there is a judicial rush against us and our wife by the NAB authorities, which was deactivated once and for all by the Executive Board Meeting (EBM) of 2020, which is available in the judicial file.
Imran Khan alleged that Al-Qadir University Trust is not a ghost project and there is no evidence of any embezzlement, illegal benefits or personal gain, not even the slightest.
