Attack on naval base in Pakistan, 6 killed including terrorists
Six people were killed in a terrorist attack on a naval base in Pakistan. One of the dead was a paramilitary soldier of the nuclear-armed country and the other five attackers were terrorists, Reuters reported.
It is reported that at least one paramilitary soldier has been killed by terrorists in an attack on the Turbat base in southwestern Pakistan. On the other hand, the security forces returned fire and killed five attackers, the country’s officials said. This is their second attack on a military installation after the attack by ethnic Baloch terrorists last week.
A statement from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office said, “We have been spared a huge loss.”
A Pakistan Navy spokesman said five attackers were killed while trying to enter the base. On the other hand, an army statement said that a paramilitary soldier was also killed in the terrorist attack.
There are several separatist groups in Pakistan’s Balochistan. The most prominent of these groups is the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). The BLA claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
