David Mill is the new US Ambassador to Bangladesh

US President Joe Biden has nominated David Mill as the next US Ambassador to Dhaka.
The White House announced the nomination Thursday night. David Mill was the US Deputy Chief of Mission in Dhaka about 10 years ago. He is currently serving as the US Deputy Chief of Mission in China.
Biden’s decision to nominate David Mill as US ambassador to Bangladesh will go to the US Congress. There will be a hearing in the Foreign Affairs Committee. The Congress will decide on the approval of the nomination based on the recommendation of that committee.
If the nomination is approved, David Mill will succeed Peter Haas as US Ambassador to Bangladesh.
According to the White House, David Slayton Mill is the senior official in the US Foreign Service at the rank of minister-counselor. He also currently serves as the Interim Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Beijing, China.
Prior to that, he was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Trade Policy in the US State Department’s Bureau of Economic and Trade Affairs.
David Mill was director of the Bureau of Prohibition Policy and Implementation.
He was Associate Dean of the School of Leadership and Management at the Foreign Service Institute in Washington, District of Columbia, Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Economic Counselor at the US Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, and Deputy Director of the Office of Monetary Affairs at the Bureau of Economic Affairs.
