Erdogan to visit Pakistan in February

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is on a two-day state visit to Pakistan. The visit is scheduled to take place on February 12 and 13.

Samaa TV reported this in a report on Friday (January 24).

It said that the main objective of this high-level visit is to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, and to increase defense, security, trade, economic cooperation and cultural exchanges.

Sources say that Erdogan will come to Pakistan with a delegation of 10 to 12 ministers during his visit. His visit will be the seventh meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCCC). Erdogan will meet Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in it.

The meeting will discuss in detail the development of defense, security, trade, economic cooperation and cultural relations between the two countries. The visit can deepen Pakistan-Turkey relations and create new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

Erdogan’s visit to Pakistan is considered important at a time when tensions with Afghanistan have recently increased. In particular, Turkey’s modern defense technology and Pakistan’s security challenges, especially in the fight against terrorism and the Afghan border, can take the relationship between the two countries to a new level.

Earlier, Erdogan called the Afghan Taliban government’s ban on women’s education un-Islamic and clarified Turkey’s position on the matter. He said that there is no obstacle to women’s education in Islam and that such a ban by the Taliban is against Islamic principles.
