EU Announces 61M Euros in Aid for Afghanistan
Previously, the United Arab Emirates also provided 20,000 tents for refugees who have returned to the country from Pakistan.
Kabul: The European Union announced 61 million euros in aid for Afghan refugees who were deported from Pakistan.
The EU statement states that 60 million euros will be allocated to organizations operating in Afghanistan and another one million euros will be allocated to organizations operating in Pakistan to deliver aid to migrants.
“A total of €60 million are allocated for humanitarian organizations working in Afghanistan and another €1 million, for those in Pakistan,” the EU statement said.
It also stated that the aid will serve to cover other needs such as shelter, protection, health care, nutrition, and water and sanitation.
“Procedures should be made, and programs should be arranged so that at least a large part of the aid reaches the victims,” said Mohammad Nabi Afghan, an economist.
some immigrants who have returned from Pakistan said that they are worried about the upcoming winter and asked the aid agencies and the Islamic Emirate to provide them with the necessary assistance.
“Give me land, give me a house, we are immigrants, we have nothing to continue our lives,” said Meena, a refugee.
“We ask the Afghan government to help us, we have no house, no place, and no money.” Said Akbar, a refugee.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate asks the world not to politicize humanitarian aid and to continue providing aid to the citizens of the country, especially the immigrants who return to the country.
“We want their humanitarian aid to increase, and secondly, for the issues of immigrants and humanitarian needs not to be politicized and for aid to continue in a humanitarian spirit,” said Zabiullah Mujahid.
Previously, the United Arab Emirates also provided 20,000 tents for refugees who have returned to the country from Pakistan.
